Every forge has its signature. With Laguiole Philippe Voissière it is the organic shapes, the restrained but deliberate decoration and the finish particular to this workshop. A portrait of the forge
In the workshop of Philippe Voissière the inherited Laguiole technique meets a clearly recognisable personal hand. The shapes are organic, the materials selected, the decoration sparing and placed with intent. Nothing looks overloaded, and nothing looks arbitrary either. It is a quiet mastery, noticed above all in the hand and less in a photograph.
The range shows how far that approach carries. Alongside the filed bee and the double platines there are damascus blades, the plein edition without spring decoration, and a series of the workshop's own editions including Le Thiers, Le Laguiole, History, Les Sculpté and Licorne. Each series has its own character without leaving the shared handwriting behind.
Philippe Voissière is one of the forges on which the A.I.P.C.L. concept rests. For a knife made in small numbers the entry with number, date and owner is particularly valuable, because once it is missing it can no longer be reconstructed.
How it works
You register your knife. Right here on aipcl.com, with no sign-up beforehand: name the forge and upload the photographs - open and closed, the bee, the spine, the blade with the forge mark, and if available the receipt or packaging. Then you pay the examination fee; we create your customer account along the way.
We examine it. We compare your knife with what we know from 30 years of trading with French forges, and when in doubt we ask the forge itself.
You get the result. If your knife is genuine it receives its own number, its page on aipcl.com and the certificate as a PDF. If it is not, we tell you that too.

Examining and registering one knife costs 10.00 euros.
If the examination shows that your knife does not come from a French forge, we refund the amount, of course. You pay only for a certificate you actually receive.
