The A.I.P.C.L. voucher
A Laguiole whose origin has been examined and recorded is a different thing from one where it is merely assumed. That certainty is exactly what you give with an A.I.P.C.L. voucher. Whoever receives it sends us photographs of their knife, we look at it, and if it comes from a French forge it is given its certificate of authenticity with a number of its own.
The voucher is meant for everyone whose knife is not yet in the register: inherited pieces, flea market finds, holiday souvenirs, knives bought elsewhere. A present for someone who already has everything except proof of what is in their pocket.
What the voucher contains
A person looks at itNo image recognition service and no computer. We compare spring, bolster, bee and grind with what the forges actually build, and when in doubt we ask the forge.
A certificate with its own numberIf the examination turns out well, the result is a
certificate of authenticity carrying an A.I.P.C.L. number that exists only once. It can be looked up at any time and downloaded as a PDF.
An entry that staysThe knife is then in the A.I.P.C.L. register, alongside more than 25,000 others. If it is sold or passed on later, the certificate travels with it.
The fee back if it is not FrenchIf the examination shows that the knife does not come from a French forge, we refund the fee in full. The sender still receives the result, together with the reasoning.
One voucher covers the examination of one knife.
It costs 10.00 euros and is valid for three years. More knives need more vouchers.

How the voucher is redeemed
1Enter the knifeThe person who received it opens
Submit a knife, enters their Laguiole and uploads up to three photographs. No account is needed beforehand, it is created when the form is sent.
2Enter the code at the checkoutThere is a field for the voucher code at the checkout. Once it is entered, the examination fee for one knife falls away. If nothing is left to pay, the payment method disappears as well.
3We examineWe look at the photographs and get in touch if we need more. If something decisive is missing, we ask for an additional shot before deciding.
4The certificate is createdFor a genuine French knife we create the certificate and send the number. From then on the knife is in the register, with its owner.
What you should know about the voucher
One voucher, one knifeEach code is valid exactly once and covers the fee for one knife. Someone who submits three knives and redeems one voucher pays for the other two as usual.
Valid for three yearsThe end date is on the voucher and in the e-mail. Three years is the ordinary statutory period; it could not be shorter in any case.
Made out to no nameWhoever holds the code can redeem it. You can pass it on, print it or write it into a card without telling us beforehand who it is for.
For the examination onlyThe voucher applies to the A.I.P.C.L. authenticity examination. It is not paid out in cash and cannot be exchanged for goods in the shop.
Straight to the recipientOn request we send the voucher directly to the person it is meant for, together with your message. Neither the amount nor the invoice number appears in it.
Fourteen days to withdrawWhen buying a voucher the statutory right of withdrawal applies in full. Vouchers that have already been redeemed are excluded from it.
If you bought the knife from us
Then you do not need a voucher. Every knife from original-laguiole.de receives its A.I.P.C.L. certificate of authenticity at no further charge, and it is already in the register. The voucher is meant for the knives that found their way here from somewhere else.
An examined knife does not lose its history. It is settled, and it will still be settled in thirty years, when the knife belongs to someone else.

Does your Laguiole not have an A.I.P.C.L. certificate of authenticity yet?
You can have it registered afterwards, no matter where you bought the knife. We check from your photographs whether it really comes from a French forge, assign it to that forge and register it under its own number. Your knife then has the same page and the same document as any knife bought from us.
The examination costs 10.00 euros. If the result is negative, we refund it.
